Breast is best,
but what’s next?

Breastfeeding is recommended by the World Health Organisation as the best form of nutrition for your infant.

Being a new parent is a journey into the unknown

It has many challenges that can result in high reward when you see a little grin beaming up at you. But if breastfeeding doesn’t go to plan, selecting an alternative feeding solution can be daunting.

Before transitioning to formula, you should consider the potential financial and social impact. The intent of this information is for educational purposes only. Always seek guidance from your doctor and follow the feeding guide in accordance with the preparation directions provided.

Even though choosing the best formula for newborns can be a challenge, in the future, when your baby is a thriving adult, you’ll know you made the right choice. Remember to be kind to yourselves as you navigate parenthood. Happy you, happy baby!

What is Gradulac Gentle?

Designed for little digestive systems, Gradulac Gentle is premium quality, advanced nutrition infant formula uniquely tailored to the development stages of your growing baby. Scientific evidence (sourced from the Department of Health WA), tells us young babies often do not produce enough lactase enzyme which helps to digest lactose. With this in mind, we created a staged lactose formulation to assist babies with their ability to digest lactose.

What is Lactose?

Lactose is a natural sugar found primarily in milk and other dairy products. Lactose provides up to half of the energy needs of breastfeeding babies. The lactose found in human milk has a beneficial effect on the development of microorganisms that live in the digestive tract of babies. It also helps babies absorb calcium better.(**Source NCBI)  The human body breaks down lactose using an enzyme called lactase.

When can I start feeding my baby infant formula?

It is recommended to seek medical advice prior to transitioning from breastmilk to infant formula. If you wish to change over the brand of infant formula, a gentle and staged approach is recommended as it can take time for infants and toddlers to transition to the different formulation.
